| William J. Schaldach, Jr. 1924 - 2005 "Dean of Mexican Ornithology" (I have no idea who stuck him with this moniker) I met Willy in 2001 and he was very kind to me, imparting his fascinating lore of Los Tuxtlas. He was totally impoverished, became seriously and died in 2005. I know how hard he tried to finish his Checklist, and I take the liberty of publishing it here as a tribute to his mind, and as thanks for his caring.
