| This is not entirely an altruistic site. I hope it helps my partner sell more Catemaco real estate by luring more people who can afford to move to Catemaco. I am not Mexican nor "Estadounidiense" although my passport says the latter. Neither am I a "Don" nor a gringo, although locally I've been nicknamed "Don Gringo". Born in Belgium of German parents, I emigrated to the US in 1959. I first arrived in Mexico from Miami, Florida in 1962 to attend Mexico City College, which is now the Universidad de las Americas. Afterwards I emigrated to Australia and later lived on several different continents including beautiful downtown Saigon, Vietnam. In 1988 I received US citizenship and continued to spend time in Venezuela and Baja California. In 2001 I decided to move to Catemaco because I found the Yucatan boring. Before I settled in Catemaco, I studied Los Tuxtlas in depth and maintained a list of internet references. Since actually moving here, that list has expanded. This web site is essentially a way for me to maintain a public file cabinet. When or if it will be filled - ¿quien sabe?
