More than 30 hotels give visitors a choice of accommodations from rustic to luxurious.
The recently updated Hotel del Parque is possibly the most recommendable because of its sidewalk terrace
restaurant and views of the central plaza. The Posada San Martin is one of the nicest and "quietest" and has
drive up parking. Three basic, cheap hotels that do not like to quote the best price are one block north of the
cathedral: Colonial, Catedral & Figueroa. Figure to spend around 200 pesos for a double. The bus station is a
taxi ride away.
Hotels in the beach areas are mostly congregated around Montepio. Best bets are the new rooms at the side
of the Las Casitas restaurant in Dos de Abril, the older Posada San Jose (same owner as the one in San
Andres city) and the "No name" hotel overlooking the gulf and the shenaningans of the Montepio beach.
During the holiday seasons, these places are jam packed!

Restaurants in San Andres Tuxtla:
The food is surprisingly good in the city. My personal favorites are the Montepio Restaurant in the alley behind
the Hotel del Parque for their upscale environment and primarily carnivorous dishes. (La Caperucita now closed
- so much for being a favorite), At night the food stalls at the side of the plaza will make your mouth water.
Winnie's, also on the plaza is a long time local favorite in a new location with inexpensive good food, served
slow.
On the beaches, Restaurante Las Casitas in Dos de Abril is about the best and nicest place to watch the
beach. Or you can try any open palapa for whatever fish is the freshest.
